The Forced Labour Convention was signed in 1930 and is an International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention. The convention has been ratified by 174 countries[i]. Ratifying countries agreed to suppress any form of forced or compulsory labour within the shortest possible time.
Being an ILO convention, the Forced Labour Convention has the legal status of an international treaty.
