The United Nations Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families was signed on December18, 1990 and came into force on July1, 2003.  The Convention aims at protecting migrant workers and members of their families; it serves as a guide for promotion of migrant rights in each country.
